The scene starts off with an establishing shot, this shows the atmosphere is full of teenager as the diegetic sound of a school bell goes off as it shows that they are still at school. The non-diegetic sounds occurring of loud guitars, being in rock style, this implies the troublesome of teenagers, preparing the audience for troubled teenager to occur in this clip. As Naomi and the teacher walk along the corridor, tracking shot is happening- this is to focus on the conversation as their background is blurred and camera is focused on them. This happens as Naomi, speaks to the teacher will a negative attitude which is submissive. Because she is a teenager this is excited for her from the audience. The targeted audience for this TV Drama is teenager so would see this a normal way to behave whereas if an older audience watched this they would associate it as bad news and the typical way for teenagers to behave as they have a stubborn attitude to older people as seen when Naomi speaks to the teacher. As a mid shot is used and the Naomi then snatches Mr Matthew's phone out of his hand as expected from a typical teenager like Naomi.
Further more in the clip, low angle is used to look up at the balcony at the students throwing paper aeroplanes everywhere. This is an efficient way of showing their rebellious act as teenagers. Following is a tracking shot eventually focusing on the girl running down the corridor amongst the people throwing paper everywhere. This is a match together as everyone in the scene are all acting the stereotypical teenage way of going against the rules.
Later on in the clip, Liam is with a girl and is constantly rejecting her. As the camera cuts into Annie heading towards them and looking at the couple. A cut into a mid shot of the couple getting close is used- this is showing their childish behaviour as he tries to get Annie jealous. Because they are teenagers of around 16-17 they are seen to have childish characterists in them as a sign of immaturity.

sexuality in tv dramas

The camera focus's on emily's face as she says "are you still awake" this implying that she hopes that she is awake because she is lonely. Being lonely in a way to try get her into a relationship. Through the whole scene non diegetic sound occurs. This sets the romantic scene being emily and alison building up sexual tension before anything happens. The camera throughout is at a high angle. This is to show both sides of emotions within their relationship- this is them both willing to be sexually active together.

The scene starts off with non diegetic sound which is lively and violets which sets romantic scene and also implying that Effy is visiting someone she loves. When freddie opens the door, the camera is at a low angle to look up at Freddie. In a straight relationship it is shown that the girl is always the one looking up at the men. This is what is shown in this clip. Straight after, it cuts into a high angle looking down at effy. This shows how the typical straight relationship is like- showing the gender that is dominant within a relationship being the men. After the first minute, close up is used throughout the sex scene to show how intense the atmosphere is.
